Research Experience
Basic Molecular Biology techniques: restriction digestion, ligation,
transformation, cloning, PCR, Northern blotting, Southern blotting,
deletions using Exonuclease III, Western blotting.
Sequencing of DNA and its analysis using GenePro, pcgene, BLAST, CLUSTALW
programs. Basic Microbiological techniques like culturing and maintenance
of Candida albicans, Saccharomyces cerevisiae and E.coli.
Gene disruption in Candida albicans, using conventional Ura-blaster
technique and PCR-based approach. Complementation of mutant strains
with genes cloned in statement vectors.
Morphogenesis in Candida albicans and detailed study of the same in
both solid and liquid media.
Biochemical assays like radioactive incorporation of amino acids and
sugars and enzyme immunoassays.
